Turner Miles

Born in 2004, Turner grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He first picked up his family's old Nikon D3300 in the first month of the 2020 pandemic, being inspired by the intrigue and possibility of space and astrophotography. Starting out with a wide angle lens, he began his photography journey by taking shots of the Milky Way. He then started experimenting in Adobe Lightroom and emphasized color, contrast, and beauty in his work.

You can see such inspirations as notable photographers such as Calibreus (Zach Doehler), Nathaniel Wise, Mark Denney, Cody Mitchell, James Popsys, Ryan Stevens, and Billy Dinh and many more in his work.

As a self taught photographer, he has over 4 years of experience working with digital cameras and photo editing software. He's gotten praise from many other photographers for his colorful editing style and risk taking in the photography world, including awards and scholarships for his colorful and creative portfolio.

He has been personally taught by great local Photographers such as Christine Lenzen (Marquette), Sabrina Langdon (Marquette), James Asava (Marquette), and Andi B (Grand Rapids), Ryan Sullivan, as well as Fine Artists such as Tracy Wascom (Marquette) and Grabrielle McNally (Marquette).

He has also worked with brands and people such as Northern Michigan University, Chick-Fil-A Grand Rapids South, Bates Bikes, Joe Hertler & the Rainbow Seekers (band), The Stray Cafe in Grand Rapids, Pretty Jane (band), and Husbands (band).

He is currently attending Northern Michigan University for a bachelor of science degree in Photography and Digital Cinema. He has also been working professionally for the NMU Marketing and Communications Department as a Marketing Photographer since early 2024.
